Melanotan I

Melanotan I is a synthetic peptide analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) that has been studied for its ability to stimulate melanin production in the skin. A regulated form, known as afamelanotide and marketed as Scenesse, is FDA-approved as a medically administered implant to help reduce phototoxic reactions in patients with erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP).
